Shannon Gilly
Ballet Teacher
Pronouns - She/Her
I began my dance journey at 14 — later than many —, but from the very first class, I knew it was where I belonged.
I trained with Celtic Beat School of Dance, where I was fortunate enough to compete internationally and experience the dance world on a global stage. Those years shaped not only my technique but my discipline, resilience, and love for performance.
I continued my training at Neath College for two years before progressing to full-time vocational training. I spent a year at Shockout Arts in Manchester, then went on to complete a further three years in Cardiff, focusing on Musical Theatre and developing my versatility as a performer.
Teaching has always been something I’ve been passionate about. I love creating a positive space where dancers feel challenged, supported, and inspired — and where confidence grows alongside technique. Passing on knowledge and helping others discover their potential is what truly drives me.
Alongside dance, I am currently training to become a Nurse specialising in Learning Disabilities. This journey has transformed the way I communicate, support, and understand individual needs. I’ve gained invaluable skills in adaptability, patience, and inclusive practice — skills I’m incredibly excited to continue bringing into my teaching.
Dance gave me confidence when I started later than most. Now, I’m passionate about showing others that there is no “right” timeline — only dedication, growth, and love for what you do.
