DRAMA & ACTING

CLASSES IN PORT TALBOT

Drama at Academy Arts is about giving young performers the confidence, skills and freedom to explore acting while learning how the industry really works. Through scripts, character work, improvisation, screen acting and performance, students are encouraged to make bold choices, use their individuality and become confident, versatile actors.

What makes our Drama training unique is that it’s led by Jalisa, a professionally trained performer who continues to work across TV, film and theatre. Students benefit from current, first-hand industry experience brought directly into the classroom, from understanding auditions and self-tapes to developing the skills needed for both stage and screen.

Each year, students also have the opportunity to take part in a full-scale musical production. This exciting experience allows them to develop their performance skills, build confidence and work together as a cast and ensemble while performing in a professional-style production.

Students may also have the opportunity to be involved in a special filming project, giving them valuable experience in front of the camera and insight into how film and television productions are created. These opportunities help bring their training to life and allow them to experience both stage and screen performance.

Classes are fun, creative and supportive, but the training has real purpose behind it. Whether a child simply loves acting or dreams of performing professionally one day, they’re learning from someone who understands what it takes because they’re actively doing it.

Our Drama classes are for ages 5–17 and take place every Tuesday at St Paul’s Centre in Port Talbot.
